Brief Executive Summary
On behalf of the Democratic Staff of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, an investigation into the potential effects of the Trump Administration's decision to no longer defend the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) in federal courts for Americans was conducted. This report examines the repercussions an estimated 168,000 people in the individual market, living in the State of Connecticut, may experience as a result of losing federal protections against coverage denials or premium increases as a result of their pre-existing health conditions, gender, or age.
